  • News 14 Weather Report for Triangle [Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill are called "The Triangle Cities"] Best weather source yet.  Check link for details, but short version some rain, maybe storms Friday.  Rain Saturday.  Guess they are far enough from Coast & the Storm Track.

Found a few more resources
  • Google Crisis Response
  • Ready America part of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Association) this is more guide of "how to prepare" just thought if you live outside of hurricane zones this might answer some questions/concerns

This is best general information I have seen so far related to MLG Raleigh and concerns about impact of Hurricane Irene, Teamliquid thread.  Here are some NOAA [United States national weather orginazation, NOAA=National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration] links and information, which is the primary place to go for weather information.  NOAA main Hurricane pageHurricane Irene Public Advisory. Also NOAA Hurricane Irene RSS feed.

See also Interactive Radar, maps, etc.

Also this Teamliquid Blog post.  AFAIK all pro players that were planning on going are still planning to be there.  Probably if problems occur they will be more like connectivity or power issues for the event or stream watchers like me.  Also perhaps some transportation problems to or from MLG Raleigh.

Already saw one person post on Teamliquid, that was/is planning on going that his return train is canceled.  So he was having problems deciding if he will go, I assume because he needs to be back for work.

Decided to put some News links about Hurricane Irene up:

  1. The Atlantic Wire [Best United States National News source I know]
  2. BBC [Simply The Best World News Source]
